My new pen nibs came in yesterday, so I was able to start inking again!

Real and Bright

Tra-la-la, working on commissions today. I took a few breaks (Frasier, Captain Crunch...) and did some sketching on the side though. This doodle's the closest I came to doing anything presentable. :P

 

It's really weird what a tablet can do to your hand-eye coordination; it felt like I was drawing with my foot. :/  Hopefully something more impressive will follow shortly.

Critical Thinking

So, the first is of my sister...who likes to write. She's really good at it, but I'm really horrible at writing reviews. We can have pretty in-depth discussions about literary parallelism and her oh-so-subtle metaphors, but when I'm trying to get my thoughts out at 6:30 am (when I generally read them), I draw a blanks. :|

 And...uh...I'll figure this one out later.

Lightning Bugs

Probably didn't take as much time with this one as I should have (maybe a day and a half-ish), but I still think she has a cute face. And I kinda like the new lighting; generally they're all lit from the side, and I wanted a new light source. :D

 

In any case, I need to do a lot of digital practice to get ready for my Comp. Illustration class next semester. SO PUMPED.

I think I like the octopus better than the mermaid. :/

Also, I'm not sure why the colors aren't as bright as they show up to be on PS; I'll mess around with the file type, because I really like how ridiculously saturated it is. :/

Sketchin'

Found a bunch of different paper lying around in my room the other day and decided to try out some toned stuff. I love my gel pens, after all. :D

Under the Sea~

I decided to really kill myself with my pens yesterday, so started drawing a mermaid and kinda went from there...

 

I wasn't dead enough after, though, so went ahead and decided to color it. Here's what I have so far:

This was drawn as a mock-cover for a Graphic Design project. The magazine was about fairytales (this one's the Juniper Tree).

 

 Was listening to "Walking on Broken Glass" by Annie Lennox and felt like drawing something all technicolor-and rococo. 

Sorry for the art dump, but it's summer and there's finally time to draw. :D
